Hello, I'm Ingrid Deras, founder of ID therapy, and a licensed marriage and family therapist associate. As a first-generation professional, I bring a unique perspective to my practice, rooted in the values of determination and empathy instilled by my upbringing. Throughout my career, I've focused on breaking cycles and guiding youth and families towards healing and growth.
I'm deeply committed to addressing systemic issues and advocating for the global majority. I offer specialized care for children, adolescents, and families dealing with trauma, relationship issues, and mood disorders. In my practice, I approach each client with deep respect for their unique experiences and cultural backgrounds. Through collaborative, culturally sensitive and trauma-informed interventions, I strive to create a safe and empowering space for healing and growth.
I hold a Master of Science degree from Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) specializing in Psychological Services to Spanish Speaking Populations, and a bachelor's degree in Women's Studies with a minor in Sociology from William Paterson University. I am active member of various professional associations and served as the communications director from 2020-2021 for the Houston Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (HAMFT).
Ingrid Deras, LMFT-Associate
My work extends beyond the therapy room, as I actively engage in community outreach, education, and advocacy efforts aimed at creating positive change on a broader scale. I firmly believe in the power of collaboration and collective action to address the root causes of social injustices and create a more equitable and inclusive world.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones and my furry friend. It is an honor to walk alongside my clients on their journey towards healing, resilience, and empowerment. Together, we can break cycles, build bridges, and create a brighter future for generations to come.
